Speed Bumps A-Comin'

From a tipster:

Lines have been painted for speed bumps on Elm between 34th and 36th. Mail trucks will soon be bouncin'.

It is possible that there will be actual speed bumps by the time Hampdenites get home from work today.

As a resident of that stretch of Elm I can say they are needed not just for the mail trucks. But I think they might cause more problems with noise if the mail trucks don't slow down.

I love the speedbumps on my street! It's hilarious watching the cars that don't slow down enough for them!

When they first painted the lines to indicate to the crew who were going to put in the bumps where they should go the street's crotchetiest old man went out and painted another set of lines at the top of the street. So they went ahead and put a speed bump in there. That really took people speeding around the corner from Falls by surprise! The city finally figured out it wasn't supposed to be there and removed it a couple of weeks later.
